Western Decorating Ideas:

Of course, the perfect place for a western theme party is in a Barn! If you don't have a barn, you can create a western atmosphere!

On the outside: - Decorate with lots of hay bales, pumpkins (if in season) and inflatable cactus. If possible, an old fashioned camp fire or fire pit can set a great western scene and to make s'mores later.

On the inside: - Start with a saloon door curtain and create the look of a wild west saloon!
Balloons randomly tied around a room always makes an inexpensive and festive decoration and set the stage for your western party or square dance.

Western Table Decorations:

1. Use gingham or bandana theme tablecovers and napkins.
2. Place a Mug at each place setting and serve root beer (or other beverages.
3. For a special touch - use different colors of cloth paisley bandanas as the napkins, tie up with raffia and pin a toy sherrif's badge to each one. This makes a great party favor as well!
4. Place a serving bowl inside an upside-down cowboy hat to serve chips, etc.
5. Tie a bandana around a basket and use as a serving bowl.

Western Party Activities

1. Square Dance - If the space is availabe and you have someone to call...have a square dance or two-step.
2. Sing-a-Long - Set the scene with an old fashion camp fire and have a sing-a-long! Some great Western tunes include:

Get Along Little Doggies
