Twilight / New Moon Theme Party Tips
The Twilight Saga - New Moon movie is a favorite party for girls! I have fun party decorating ideas, game ideas, prize or favor ideas, and some cool party food ideas for your New Moon party! Twilight is also a great idea for a Halloween party!
New Moon Party Decorating Ideas:
Room Decorations
Balloons and streamers...the basic decorating stand-bys...are always an inexpensive and easy way to turn any room into a festive birthday party. Attach streamers from center of ceiling to each corner of the room. Use two colors and twist streamers for effect. Or...attach short streamers to doorways or down walls. Use plenty of black, brown, and red balloons. Tie in bunches of 3 around room and/or attach one balloon to the back of each chair at the table. Use extra balloons on the "birthday" chair, if this is a birthday party. Give each child a balloon to take home after the party.
Table Decorations
The easiest way to bring out any party theme is with the paper products for your table. Decorate with New Moon theme paper plates, napkins and cups. Add plates or napkins in solid black if desired. Use a black tablecover with black star confetti thrown around on table. In the center of the table place some white tea light candles.

Suggested Treats:
- Bake cookies in the shapes of doggy biscuits (in honor of the werewolves).
- Conversation hearts (there’s a connection between Jacob and Bella here).
- Triple-decker birthday cake served on a glass table.
- Add red food coloring to already-red punch, to look like blood (notify guests, as some may be allergic to food coloring). Serve it in clear plastic party glasses.
Game Ideas:
Soundtrack Musical Chairs – Purchase the soundtrack to New Moon and play the traditional game of musical chairs. (Seat guests in a circle. Guests walk behind the chairs while music plays. Take one chair away, and when the music stops, everyone rushes to find a seat. The person left without a chair is out of the game. Play several rounds until only one person is left seated.)
Vampire Bob—Issue every player a set of plastic vampire teeth and have them bob for plastic dog-biscuit-shaped toys wearing the fake teeth. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and place large plastic doggy biscuit chew toys inside the water. Players hold their hands behind their backs and try to bite into the floating plastic toys to remove them from the water. Players take turns until all the chew toys are removed. Make sure toys aren’t so small that they’re a choking hazard.
Motorcycle Race—Remember how Jacob and Bella bonded while Jacob taught Bella to ride her motorcycle? Set up black butcher paper on the floor to represent a road. (If you have lots of helpers and spare time, glue small yellow strips of construction paper down the center of the black butcher paper, to simulate the dashed yellow line down a real road.) Purchase two wind-up toy motorcycles. Have game participants wind up their motorcycles and race against one another. The person whose motorcycle remains on the black butcher paper “road” for the greatest distance is declared the winner. Write names on sticky notes to mark a motorcycle’s final crash site.
Find Bella—This game is tactlessly in reference to Bella’s runaway mentality after Edward dumped her sorry self. Have all of the guests leave the room. Hide a dark-haired Barbie doll (one dressed sort of like Bella) anywhere in the room. Then turn out the lights. Give each guest a flashlight and have them search the room until they find Bella.

- A paper bag full of warm sodas
- A set of tools (used to fix cars and motorcycles, for example)
